Vigilance is essentially an integral part of management function and an aspect of public service involving monetized transactions. In any organization involved in public services viz., Public Sector Banks, the Govt. of India monitors vigilance function and implements the anti-corruption measures while ensuring Integrity and probity in public services through the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)
A full-fledged Vigilance Department was established at the Head office of Vijaya Bank in the year 1995. The department is headed by the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) who is appointed by Ministry of Finance in consultation with CVC and functions directly under the Chairman and Managing Director. CVO is the single point reference in the Bank for matters concerning CVC.
